There are places in our homes that provide the “chicken soup for the soul” effect that give you a warm and fuzzy feeling - cozy, safe and happy. May be the kitchen, a home office, or the family room.

For me, that place is my bed, it’s my comfort zone. One of my simple pleasures in life. And (a little confession) - I have a love affair with my bed.

With a feather mattress, 6 king-sized pillows, and unkempt layers of down, silk and lavender vanilla-scented cotton encased in a California King platform bed, it’s the ultimate in comfort and warmth. Cozy and inviting, it’s like being nestled in a soft, puffy cloud. And, big enough to hold a family of 4 (although a family of 4 doesn’t live in it). Some would cringe at the unkempt covers, but it adds to the appeal to just go ahead and jump into it - or on it. Very inviting!

Do men have no shame, at all? Viva Viagra? Seriously? Is that the BEST you advertisers could come up with? Elvis is probably rolling over in his grave, shuddering - knowing his music has become the ‘face’ of erectile dysfunction (ED). Long live the King!

Note to advertisers - hire new creative teams. You’re scraping the bottom of the barrel in an attempt to breath new life out of old. It ain’t working folks. But how about something like this:

Bob: Having sex with me is like trying to shoot pool with a rope.
Jane: It’s okay Bob. Maybe you want to talk to your doctor about Viagra.

(left stage: from the wings, Mighty Mouse comes flying in holding a small brown bag boldly emblazoned with the word VIAGRA…)

Mighty Mouse: Here I come to save the day!
Jane (to Mighty Mouse): Oh Mighty Mouse! You’re my hero! Bye Bob - I’m leaving you. <3

That’s the kind of commercial I want to see for Viagra. It’s short - following the “How to get your point across in 30 seconds or less” philosophy. And it’s effective. And much better than Viva Viagra. Well, I think so.

This is for all you ladies out there - Food for Thought. Chicken Soup for the Sex-Deprived. And although unconventional, tried and true.

What’s a girl to do in this day and age? So many men, but we can’t seem to find “the one” who sets our hearts afire and enjoy being around all of the time. Why settle for one man in your life, when you can have two!

I’ve been saying this for a long time now. Listen up: Every woman needs two men in her life:

• one who can service a booty call (an on-call booty call, no less), and
• one who’s a companion.

But don’t ever cross-pollinate the two.

You see, just because you’re compatible as friends doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to be - or should be - compatible as lovers.

But why strive for perfection in one (impossible), when you can split it with two? You can even forego the necessity of commitment.

January 6th in the Northeast, and it’s 74 degrees. Flower bulbs are blooming, so are the cherry blossoms - in January, in the north. Oh well, point me in the direction of the beach, so at least I can enjoy a day or two knowing, next week, when it dips back into the 30’s and 40’s again, we’ll all be sick. Guess I should stock up on loratadine - it’s not just for allergies. Speaking of Claritin, that, reminds me of a song …

(Update Jan 13, 2007) Just as predicted, everyone’s sick around these parts. And, seeing the majority do not practice germ containment, it spread like the plague. Sinus infections and respiratory infections are abundant. As much as I’m fighting it, it’s getting the better of me. Bring me a steeping bowl of chicken soup, and some codeine. I’ll be just fine. (haha)
