I was listening to the radio this afternoon. The DJ was talking about summer vacations. Well, actually, he referred to them as “stay-cations” - where you stay at home and find interesting things to do in your town, or close to home.
That’s pretty cool. Stay-cations. Being that it’s so friggin’ expensive to travel - you get sucker punched whether filling up the car, flying, or any other mass transportation - seems a lot of people are opting to take stay-cations.
While Nick and I had discussed driving down to Ocean City (MD), I realized - hey! I’m only an hour from the beach. Are we really gonna drive 9 hours or so to sit on the beach when there’s one right here? Well, the bigger problem is - the Jersey shore is ghastly expensive! A hotel shanty in any beach town is gonna run you in excess of $200/night. Talk about price gouging! Sheez!
Wonder if Priceline has participating hotels down by the shore? Hmmm… may be hitting them up. Meanwhile, I’ll check out the shore guide over at nj.com to see what’s upcoming here in the Garden State.

How about you? Vacation, or stay-cation?

I can’t think of anything better than not having to go anywhere and just enjoying our space.
