There is nothing exciting happening in my life at this moment. Sad, but true. And even though the advice of others indicate keep little items of inspiration at close hand for those times when you need it, the only inspiration I’ve got at hand would be my super-fantastic special recipe margarita.
Looking around, my house is totally quiet. I’m enveloped in the company of myself. Yes indeed. While the kiddies are away, the mommies shall play! But what if mommy is dead-assed tired? Besides, it’s raining.
I’ve got the patio door open - since it’s 66° outside. The rain’s actually kind of soothing - reinforces the notion that I’m not up for hitting the local pub across the street as I wanted to earlier.
Doubly so, coupled with that crack of thunder I just heard. And oh - wow! Since I opened the door a few minutes ago, the rain is coming down much, much harder!
And the lights are flickering.
Better find the candles. May not even get this post up before I lose …
Oh GREAT!
Just lost electricity. Wow! It’s amazing how well a laptop can light up a dark room. Really! Makes a fabulous flashlight. It’s all good. My battery will last 2 hours.
More thunder. Possibly the same storms that rolled through the midwest Sunday and yesterday.
Yay. Lights are back on again.
Well, I’d better get this posted before I lose power again. Want to include this soundclip:
Now close your eyes. You can share what I’m experiencing. Sort of. But I don’t have the damned birds. They’re a little creepy.

Really enjoyed this post - flicker oh, no, we just lost our electricity! Seriously, we have a 110km/h gale blowing here in Melbourne.
Trees on freeways, power out at a couple of colleges, traffic intersection lights flashing amber…
Funny how we are all “power” seekers!

I think your thunderstorm induced it to rain here when I played it. Could you post some sunshine now, please?
I wuite liked the birds actually - it is fascinating to hear creatures I have never heard before. I obviously hear birds, but it is their calls that are different.
Thanks for this. Gotta switch it off now. Dripping water making me cross legs!
