Yeah, I see how it is! I leave for a couple of days and everyone abandons ship, too!
Just kidding, just kidding.
Hope everyone had a good weekend. As I’ve mentioned several times, I took the weekend off to celebrate my birthday - something I only do every few years.
My girlfriends kept me busy from Thursday through Saturday. We ate, we drank. We drank some more. I sampled pomegranate martinis. And I experienced car bombs for the first time. Note the plural of that - bombs. Yes, indeed, I’m no pussy. Would’ve had more, too - but I have to face reality - I’m no spring chicken anymore, and the day after the night before is rough!
The family took me out Saturday and Sunday. Dining out with Nick and Gar wouldn’t be dining out unless there was a prank to go along with it. Saturday was no exception. This time, I had my little pocket point-and-shoot with me and was able to capture it on video.
Here’s a clip for you:
What wasn’t captured on video was Nick and Gar battling it out outside, and Dana (my ‘adopted’ daughter, seen in the picture here) getting caught in the middle. She came away with a nasty cut on the inside of her lip. On the plus side, she won’t be in need of any collagen for a while! We were just horribly sorry that it was her - and not Nick, or Gar, who was the victim.
In previous adventures in dining, we’ve not had any physical injuries. But they have created - what I would loosely term as body art. Nick, Gar, et al have stuffed mashed potatoes up each other’s noses, used biscuits and gravy as body lotion, and crammed assorted citrus fruits in their mouths. Yes, life with Nick and Gar has contributed to the excessive laugh lines that adorn my face.
And I cherish every one of them.
Well, I’m off to watch the DMB Piedmont DVD I got as a present. Having been at that show on a sweltering summer evening, I want to make sure I’m not in the videos. Nor my companion who accompanied me. Nor the dudes who enticed my companion with catheter bags filled with hooch! (What happens in Atlanta stays in Atlanta.)
[update: after having watched the show - which I can only assume was vocally remastered - don't know who was more f*cked up - my companion, or Dave.]
