Holy Shit! I just had a frigging heart attack .. felt those palpitations and my whole body go totally numb. The sweat beading off my forehead, my skin turning whiter than normal for a NY non-native that’s survived a few winters upstate. Papers falling from my hand and my jaw stuck in this wide mouth stance.
I just opened my cell phone bill for January …
$852.46
WHAT THE FUCK????????????
Are you fucking kidding me? How in the hell can one person have a phone bill for $852.46? I have one main line, my business line, and my two kids each have a line. But we have the “package deal” that our
SPRINT
(YES .. I did say SPRINT … I know … I know .. I KNOW!!!…)
customer service representative was more than happy to have bestowed upon me last month as I was upgrading my phone. How pleasant of her. In the process of giving us the “package deal”, she miscoded everything .. and I mean EVERYTHING!
So, where does $852.46 come from?
My son, who has a trigger happy finger, had 2,143 text messages charged at $.20 per text (who the hell has time to send 2,143 text messages … I need to reevaluate his school schedule … or lack of one) … add it up its $424.60. Then, my daughter uses her phone for the internet. She overused her time and I was charged $75.00 for 2500 kb at $.05 per kb. In addition, this overly helpful customer service rep charged each phone line the “package deal” price instead of just the main line. Add that up, $69.99 x 3 and there’s another $210.00.
Well, thanks to the good people at tbe Sprint customer care center in Canada, namely John in particular who brought my heart palpitations down to a normal level and listened calmly as I ranted and raved, took care of me. (I feel really sorry for that guy and realize I need to send him a bottle of Crown for the pain I put him through!) He corrected the problems, as well as showing me other things on my bill that I have been paying for all these years that I shouldn’t have.
The moral of this story? A) Don’t use Sprint because they suck, AND B) Look over your phone bill every now and then … you never know when you’ve been the victim of errant customer service mistakes!!!
So what was my end result?
The Adjusted Bill:
$150.14
It pays to be a bitch sometimes.
I am woman … hear me roarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
