Ever play drunk chess? No? No, that’s not where you get drunk and strip down to your cleavage. That would be drunk poker.
We’re talking strategy, alcohol, ruthlessness, alcohol, out-maneuvering, alcohol. Get the picture?
Can I start off my saying don’t EVER play chess with someone who feigns ignorance and nonchalance at the game. That would be the first HORRID mistake.
Drunk chess involves a chessboard. But not just any chessboard! One tailored to imbibing large quantities of alcohol. One like that depicted in the picture below.

Did you note they look like shot glasses. You would be correct. And each player fills their glasses with some hideous liquor.
The game is played like standard chess with one interesting caveat - if you lose a piece, you drink that shot. And if you lose another, you drink another. See the pattern emerging?
My sister is a mean, evil person. She persuaded me to play. If I knew AFTER the game what I knew BEFORE we started playing, I never would have been subjected to the sucker punch I received. Midway through, after I’d consumed HALF my team, she informs me:
“Don’t you remember dad used to have his friends come over to play against me ’cause I was THAT good?”
“No, but do you think you could’ve mentioned that before we started?”
Quite possibly my first clue should have been how gingerly she unwrapped each piece from their protective wrapping!
She took me to the cleaners, and in record time no less.
The only thing I have to say for myself is I’m a fun drunk.
P.S. If you would to obtain a shot-glass chessboard of your own, check out this site: Shot-glass chessboards.
P.S.S. Here’s the picture my sister is referring to in her comment below.
Chicks smoking cigars. Hotness! Indeed.
