I got up the other morning and, as I was walking down the hall, realized Nick was in the bathroom. Being the good stalker Mom, I crouched down and waited for him to come out. As Nick opened the door, I lurched out at him …
Moi: BOOOO!
Nick - having had the shit scared out of him - slipped and fell to the floor, arms and legs flailing wildly. All 5′9″ of him.
It was the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time. I couldn’t help myself - I started laughing uncontrollably and couldn’t stop. Have you ever seen The Money Pit, the part where Tom Hanks starts laughing and can’t stop?
That was me. The more I tried, the harder I laughed. Well, okay - I didn’t sound like a seal though.
Nick: MOM! Really? It’s NOT FUNNY!
Moi: Muah! ha! HAAAAA! … actually *laughter* … it’s … HYSTERICAL! If you could … *guffawing* … only see … yourself!
*snort!* 
Nick: Come on Mom, it’s not– funny … muah … hahaha … *laughter*
Then Nick started laughing just as hard, too. The two of us stood there for a good 2-3 minutes. Well, I stood there - Nick was still on the floor. It was one of the funniest moments I’ve had in a long time. (Last time was when I was drunk and got stuck in a rollaway bed.)
Moi (crossing my legs): Damn, I gotta go before I pee my pants.
I turned away and walked back to my bathroom, wary - but happy - that nothing awaited me when I came out.
There is nothing I enjoy more than the sound of my son’s laughter. He’s got a hearty laugh that reminds me of my brothers. He’s also got a great sense of humor. And, knowing payback’s a bitch, I’ve been on my guard.
You know, for all the years that children shave off our lives from the stress of raising them, they give it back with entertainment and laughter.
Yes, life with Nick is one laugh track after another. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. Luv ya, bud! 
Psst: Just keep me supplied with Depends when I get older.
