Over the weekend, I ended up with a stomach virus/flu that was passed on by an unnamed family member (Gar). Stayed at home Monday. Tuesday, still wasn’t feeling great, but work demands required me being there. Mid-afternoon, I left and was persuaded to go get checked out by my doctor.
Why did they ever phase out house calls?
Don’t know about you, but I hate sitting in doctor’s offices. My time is just as valuable as their’s and, the longer I wait, the more agitated I become. Especially when, in the course of a typical hour wait, I will see anywhere between 1-4 sales reps come waltzing in and going straight to the back. Not cool! Not cool at all for these people to bump patients who have scheduled appointments and are already past that scheduled time - by up to 45 minutes (or more).
I’ve defended the pharmaceutical industry in the past, but I’m slamming you and your practices now. I know what you reps do in the course of your day and, your quota doesn’t mean shit to me. It’s your job. You can sit amongst those of us who are PAYING to endure have the honor of sitting in doctor’s offices upwards of an hour to get 5 minutes of face time.
Suck it up and wait it out with us.
That is all.
P.S. Love the fact that I spent money to be told to continue the self-medicating I was already doing (since antibiotics could make the stomach virus worse). But I did leave with a scrip just in case it didn’t get in any better in the next couple of days. On the up side, next time I need antibiotics I won’t have to endure the wait. Can just fill the scrip instead. Paging Dr. Marcus Welby - teach these docs about house calls, please!
