Brag no more.![]()
Yesterday morning, I dropped Nick off at school, made my weekly stop at the Post Office, and then proceeded on to work. We’ve been under a flood watch all week long and, wanting to check the water levels, I opted for the leisurely route by the lake.
Approaching the intersection, there’s a SUV in front of me waiting to make a right turn. The SUV turns, I look to the left and, seeing it clear to go - take off …. SMASH!! My truck (Elvis) rammed right into the back of the SUV who had, apparently, balked at turning and was still sitting there, not moving. I couldn’t slam those brakes fast enough; but it didn’t matter - it was too late. In the blink of an eye, I broke my 31-year streak of driving accident-free.
Fortunately, it was only a fender bender and, other than some rattled nerves (of my own), nobody was hurt. Elvis needs a new bumper, though. (When it stops raining, I’ll take a picture and post the damage.)
To my insurance folks at GEICO - there’s not enough great things I can say about them. Thanks guys! Incredibly supportive and helpful. Whenever you’re in the market for insurance, please give them a call!
