Armed with phones, computers, cameras, dvds, one → pimpin’ bunny mask ← and enough provisions to take us all the way to California, tomorrow, at the break of dawn, Nick and I embark on the 14-hour drive down to NashVegas (aka Nashville) to spend Thanksgiving with family. It’s a long drive, but Nick’s a great travel companion - moreso when traveling by car than by plane.
Gary can’t make it down because of his work schedule, and will be taking care of Hippie Love Child II (aka, Marley). In years past, Gar has taken care of the pets, and most times, they all survived. Some times not.
I’m looking forward to a relaxing week and seeing everyone again. Nick’s looking forward to hanging out with his two uncles, who are 2nd generation practical jokesters. We never know what to expect from them - but are assured a funny outcome. And Nick’s learning from the masters to carry on the family tradition. Well, at least he thinks he is. In fact, Nick’s been plotting how he’s going to get them this year. He won’t reveal any details to me thinking I’ll give it away. I’ve told him it will take him years before he’s able to compete in their league, yet he confidently shrugs off that assertion.
We’ll see, huh!
Stay tuned for stories from the road!
Update 1 (the night before the day of): Are you shitting me? I just filled up the truck so I wouldn’t have to in the morning. $2.99/gallon? Damn! With an amazing a suckass 17 highway miles per gallon and 22.5 gallon tank, this is gonna be friggin’ expensive!
