Where did the time go? The holidays have crept up on us already; Christmas is just a little over 6 weeks away, give or take a few days.
I can’t believe how quickly the year has flown by. But it seems they all do anymore. “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.”
Speaking of plans, I have a great book that was given to me several years ago called, The Wish List, by Barbara Ann Kipfer. In it, you’ll find a checklist of things to do in your lifetime. Here’s → an excerpt. From the publisher:
The Wish List is a wellspring of 6,000 ideas for things to do, see, taste, learn, and experience… it’s a compulsively readable list that sounds a call to get out there and start living.
Let’s see, what are the some of the items on my wish list?
- have Michelangelo give me a tattoo
- ride a sunfish
- summer at a villa in Tuscany
- order Dom Pérignon with my fries and cheeseburger
- visit the Tupperware Museum (there is such a place?)
- write down all the weird things I’ve thought about
- finally throw out pens that don’t work
- skinny-dip under a waterfall
- go on vacation and leave my watch at home
- have my children get up, get dressed, and get out the door without me fussing at them
- keep my house spotless
- find a thousand dollars in a taxicab
- wear a propeller beanie for a day
- stand on an iceberg
- attend an elegant New Year’s Eve ball
- summer on a dude ranch in Wyoming
- avoid the symptoms of menopause
- be a doctor who makes house calls
The Wish List is a great little coffee table book. It provides inspiration for things you may not have previously thought about doing - some attainable, some not. Doesn’t matter - it sparks creativity and spontaneity, and will aid in expanding your goals and ambitions, and ideas to plan ahead for someday.
What’s on your wish list?
