From classical to jazz, and blues to hard pumping rock, music is a lifeblood - and my tastes are rather eclectic, spanning all genres. Favorites include: Dave Matthews/DMB …
Taylor Hicks/LiMBO (Soul Patrol!!).
Two artists who were taken away from us too soon (many others as well):
Eva Cassidy (what an INCREDIBLE voice!)…
(video clip removed)
…and Luther Vandross (pure silk! missing you a lot Mr. V.)…
…Sarah, Kelly, Anna, Joss, Christina…
…Rob Thomas, Maxwell, John Legend, Howie, Marvin…
…The Who, The Beatles, Elton (especially his early stuff), Elvis …
…The classics of Frank, Dean, and Sammy, Andy and Dusty, too …
Reclaiming my southern roots through Allman Brothers, Charlie, Skynyrd, VanZant, Tucker, and Mule (Warren Haynes) …
And the jazzy, funky, soul-stirring, happy feet/foot stomping get-the-blood-pumping vibes of under-exposed not yet fully discovered super-talents. Some examples of greatness: J.R. Richards (frontman for Dishwalla, embarking on a solo adventure)…
…Butterfly Boucher, Lisa Marie Presley, Bernie Williams (yes, the baseball player is fabulous on guitar!), Robert Randolph Family, and the many, many more that remain to be enjoyed!
One of the (unexpected yet) magical elements of MySpace is the ability to discover artists and music you would otherwise not have the opportunity of so doing. Some newly discovered talents that I’ve had the pleasure to become ‘friends’ with include: Nathan Davis Band, Trinity Road, Lori McKenna, Matraca Berg, Tonya Watts, Lizz Wright, Nick Martin, Cattywompus, and The Brew, just to name a few. I know this list will expand, but there’s a tremendous wealth of talent at our disposal, just waiting for a listen.
