Why is it that large people like to drive small cars, and petite folks drive large cars? My theory? By driving the smaller, compact cars, large folks aren’t as big. By driving the big, full-size cars, trucks and SUVs, the tiny folks loom large.I think it’s all in the subconscious - convincing the mind that one is smaller or larger than in real life - for, obviously, a 400-pound individual driving a Metro looks like someone stuffed a polar bear in a shoebox. Not only that - god forbid you’re in an accident. It’s gonna take some serious effort to extricate that person from the vehicle, not to mention the additional injury risk it poses.
Then there’s the tiny folks who can’t even see over the steering wheel or dashboard, or reach the gas pedal without adding cushions, phone books, and the like. Tiny fish in a great big sea.
This is just one of those “wow, interesting! I’ve noticed that too” observations.
