We’ve recruited this lovely little critter to keep a close watch on the house. “JJ’s” about 4″ in diameter, and builds a 3-foot orb web.
Should she spot any unsavory kids trying to goosy the housy, they’re sure to get goosied themselves. Be forewarned, it won’t be pleasant - for her bite is worse than her bark.
Should I tell you where she hides? Ha! No way! Not going to give away her hiding place. We kind of like the idea of “web-ambush” instead. (lol)

I have about half a dozen spiders like that that take up guard duty in my front yard in summer, but they only ever seem to catch me. Which I heartily disapprove of.
